Charcoal on Velin BFK Rives Blanc 300g/m2 paper (Schmincke Fixer 50-402)
940 x 1330 mmThe drawing is based on a photograph taken by the designer, architect and photographer Piet Zwart at the NFK cable factory in Delft around 1928. The machinist aesthetic developed by the avant-garde movements of the early 20th century and the adoption of photography as a medium uniting art and technique found in industrial environments a place to develop the New Vision. The machinery as a whole verges on abstraction.
