  • Didier Petit de Meurville was French vice-consul in Alicante from 1848 to 1857 and French consul in San Sebastián from 1857 to 1872. He was an important art collector and amateur painter. The lands where he carried out his consular duties inspired him in his drawings and oil paintings in which he shows elements of rural and urban architecture that allow us to identify views of Elche, San Juan, Cevillent or in this case the now disappeared lighthouse of the port of Alicante.
